Working with the RED Camera

  • 10:00 am - 11:00 am Saturday
  • Peter Hulst, Cinematographer
  • This is a workshop that no filmmaker or filmmaker-in-training will want to miss.  Peter Hulst, one of the founding members of the Fallbrook Film Factory, will highlight the revolution of RED digital filmmaking from production, post-production, final delivery and beyond.  Now that digital filmmaking has gone mainstream, with so many camera and workflow options, what makes RED and their systems the premier choice for filmmakers from the independents to studios alike?

Topics include, 4k images compared with 2k images, the proprietary equipment needed to film on the RED, REDCINE-X and the benefits of the REDROCKET. Come and learn about the advantages, and potential challenges faced when choosing to produce a film on the RED.

Peter Hulst has worked as an editor, cinematographer and technical producer and director.  He has been working with the RED Camera on commercial shoots for the last two years and has gained a first hand insight of this state-of-the-art technology.

Growing Up Capra – Part 2

  • 11:30 am - 12:30 pm Saturday
  • Frank Capra III, Producer
  • Last year Frank Capra III entertained, amused and enlightened us with tales of what it was like growing up in an illustrious Hollywood family. As the son of Frank Capra, Jr. and the first grandson of Frank Capra, he certainly had an advantage, but his father and grandfather taught him that he had to work hard, pay his own way and ultimately, be responsible for his own decisions.

Frank took this advice to heart. He has worked on more than 60 films as assistant director, producer and executive producer including “A Few Good Men”, “Bucket List”, and “Hitch”. The hour flew by last year and Frank promised that he would come back to continue his dialogue with us. If you attended Frank Capra’s workshop last year, you won’t want to miss this follow-up.  If you missed it, don’t let another opportunity pass you by. This one is a must-see so come early and guarantee yourself a good seat.
