Nominated for Best Narrative Short: A 1950s shirt safety inspector approves several un-safe shirts to meet a quota and impress a girl. When the shirts cause a series of horrific disasters, Inspector 42 must decide if he is willing to come clean and face the consequences of his actions.
Winner Best Animation:This film is about one family. There's nothing too special about this family except they happen to live during the period of World War II. The most unbearable siege sucks the last drop of life out of a once warm family. The true strength of oneself is reached in the difficult times, when it is needed most.
Winner Best Documentary Feature:Preservationist, naturalist, author, explorer, activist, scientist, farmer, John Muir (4/21/1838 – 12/24/1914) was all these things and more. Nearly a century after his death, this Scottish American is remembered and revered as the father of the environmental movement and the founder of the Sierra Club, the oldest and largest grassroots environmental organization in the United States. John Muir in the New World is a timely reminder of America’s unique and, ultimately, threatened eco-systems.
